WRITING TIPS: HOW ABOUT HONESTY? (CORPORATE EDITION)

We could write a book only about “writing advices”, and actually someone did it already.

More than once I came across tips, lists of advices and guides with the one and only aim to help you write efficiently.
From “write about what you know” to “be brief and clear” they cover every aspect of a text, but, after quite a long research, i noticed a great absent, one little word named so little to seem forgotten: Honesty.


We are told to be persuasive, simple but nearly ever to be Honest. Someone will probably say that there’s no need to push anyone to such a natural, and fair, behavior, but is this the case?
We are surrounded by words, by companies selling themselves to sell, declaring solidity but offering nothing more than thin air.
Searching for guilty parts in an increasing show-like attitude instead of a clear one doesn’t make any sense, at this point it is part of common thinking and widely accepted.
However, the importance of honesty’s rediscover is necessary, it has to start as a dialogue between company and client, abolishing all those nearly unreadable footnotes and asterisks.


Sincerity always travels along with courage and when the informations are on this track the final destination can only be Trust.
We can easily say that honesty isn’t something to reach, but an initial investment in the company, in our capabilities and finally in the clients.
Investing in Honesty means using bravery and openness and, with effort, being ready to collect Trust-interest.


Finally, I like to end this article by adding, with great humility, one more advice to the thousand you can find online and offline:

- Always write honestly, portrait the truth and be clear because this is an investment that, at the end, always pays.
